The Face of Trauma
My third book, The Face of Trauma, is in its revision phase now, with only one chapter left to write and my recent research data to be added. The details of putting all the pieces into a book, photographs, consents, legends, and of course editing, always take more time than I anticipate. Yet I like what I see, and I hope that this new book will be a worthwhile contribution. Whenever I lecture on the topic, surgeons immediately see its relevance and I think the connection between childhood abuse or neglect, body image, and addictions, including plastic surgery, is not only novel but makes a lot of sense. I hope that it will do the same for mental health professionals and the public.
